Global ranks

The Glow board

Higher Glow is a kinder stall. This board is only the sites with a first look or a traveler score. Everywhere else on the map carries a paper score from city rates and verified news, labeled as such, until someone who charged there contributes. Sketchiness is the same ruler, read from the other end.

Stalls that ask for a plan

Lowest Context Glow right now. Not a hall of shame — a short list to read before you arrive tired.

How Glow is calculated

Lived Glow turns seven scores, each from 1 to 5, into a number from 0 to 100. Until travelers rate a stall, those scores are Wattfolk's first look at the setting — lighting, isolation, the walk to a bathroom — not a police report.

  • Lanterns · 16% — Canopy, storefront, and the stall row itself after dark.
  • Company · 12% — Other people, open businesses, and eyes on the lot — versus a highway island.
  • Solo after dark · 22% — Would you charge here alone at night? Rated with women traveling solo in mind, and from the stop you actually made.
  • Leave it · 14% — Smash-and-grab and cut-cable feel. Five means you'd leave a bag in the car; one means you wouldn't.
  • Unbothered · 12% — Whether people come to the window, ask for money, or linger at the stalls.
  • The walk · 10% — Restroom, coffee, food: how far, how lit, and whether it's open when you arrive.
  • The lot · 14% — Sightlines, cameras, which row is the dark one, and whether the exit is obvious.

Solo after dark is the heaviest piece, on purpose. You can also sort the board by that score alone.

When travelers do score a stall, their marks blend with the first look. The first look counts as four votes, so one grumpy night can't erase the lot, and a crowd can.

City context then nudges Lived Glow. We compare the city's 2024 FBI violent rate and property rate with US estimates (359 violent and 1,760 property crimes per 100,000, USAFacts reading of FBI national estimates for 2024). Property is weighted a little more, because stall worries are usually break-ins and cut cables. The nudge is capped between −8 and +5. Cities missing from the 200-city table get no nudge, and we say so.

Context Glow is the default rank. Lived scores are always one tap away.

Wattfolk is an independent field guide, not Tesla. Tesla's own site says 80,000+ Superchargers worldwide. The pins here are the open sites in the supercharge.info directory of that network, with stall counts from the same list. A Glow is a first look or a traveler score. Other pins show a paper score: the citywide crime rate, plus any verified news at that exact site. A blank 60 means neither was on file. It is not a review of the lot. Crime figures are citywide rates, not the parking lot. The news log is reported incidents, not a complete record.
